Did you know the Wayne County Fair was organized by the Wayne County Agricultural Society in 1862, the same year the nation witnessed the start of the Civil War?

On a perfect Labor Day in 1984, a friend of ours asked me to come up and look at a property in Milanville that he was considering buying and he wanted my opinion.

It’s nice that most of you know me. I’ve been coming up to Duck Harbor for over 65 years – Where did the time go?! I can’t possibly be that old! But, if I had to choose one place to grow old at, it would be Duck Harbor.

We lost a beloved fisherman on the lake this year. While Franklin did not live at Duck Harbor, he had many friends here and loved being by Duck Harbor to hunt and fish.
